A Million Souls Aware
If you watch the local evening news, you know how this works: Somebody has some sort of misfortune — an elderly woman gets overcharged on her water bill, a veteran can’t pay his mortgage, something like that — and they report it on the news. When we check back in a few days later, we find that people have called and offered money and support — more than was needed in fact.
To me, it speaks to what I believe is true for the vast majority of us, and by “us” I mean HUMAN. In short, when someone is in need, it’s often not a question of whether others will turn their backs on the needy. It’s a question of being AWARE of someone being in need in the first place. When we know someone’s hurting and we can help, we tend to do it.
That’s the introduction to “A Million Souls Aware” which you can find at www.millionsoulsaware.org. This movement starts with that very basic concept of awareness, and focuses it on the millions of refugees around the world who have been displaced because of war, famine, disease and genocide. I will admit that there’s a lot I don’t know about the challenges that refugees face globally, but through this site, I’m learning. I hope you will, too.
In the not too distant future, I hope to unveil a project that will increase not only awareness, but activism. After all, this is what “A Message From God” is all about. But in the meantime, visit “A Million Souls Aware” and find out how you can help our brothers and sisters in humanity.
