The Importance of Small Steps of Faith in Daily Life

We love to talk about taking leaps of faith—those big, dramatic moments when we have to step off the edge, trusting that God will catch us. And yes, sometimes life calls for that.

But what about the small steps of faith?

The ones that don’t feel miraculous or world-shifting. The quiet choices we make every day to trust, even when we don’t have all the answers.

  • Saying “yes” to an opportunity even though you feel unqualified.
  • Avoiding the temptation to doomscroll on your phone when you could be working on something more important and impactful to your life.
  • Showing up — again — for the thing God put on your heart, even when it feels like nothing is happening.

These aren’t leaps. These are steps. And they are just as important. Because before Peter ever walked on water, he had to take one step out of the boat. Before Moses parted the Red Sea, he had to lift his staff. Before any great move of faith, there were small, unseen acts of trust.

Faith isn’t just about big, dramatic moments. It’s about daily obedience. It’s about the step you take today, even if you don’t see the whole path yet.

Keep moving forward, one step at a time. You don’t have to see the whole staircase—just take the next step.

“We walk by faith, not by sight.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:7

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

Who Are You Choosing To Be?

I like being the guy who applies Jesus’ teaching: “Love your enemies and pray for them who persecute you.” I like being the guy who my friends call upon for an inspired word. I like being able to bask in the joy of my daughter’s love, despite the difficult circumstances around us. When I go to bed at night, I want to be able to say that I did what God put on my heart to do. If I don’t live to see another day, I want to be able to rest saying that when it came to doing what I feel God asked me to do, I went for it.
