WOMEN are Special

Womanhood is an awesome subject to contemplate and meditate upon.

Consider with me how the Word of God describes the creation of the woman.
First of all, the woman – like the man – is to be a reflection of God’s image and like God in moral character, power and authority. Note these words: “Let us make mankind in our image and after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and the beasts of the field. So God created mankind in His own image; in the image and likeness of God He made them; male and female created He them” (Gen. 1:26-27).

Second, the woman is God’s perfect answer to the man’s need for companionship. Again, from the Scriptures we see that “God said, ‘It is not good that the man (male) should be alone (single). I will make a help meet (suitable) for him” (Gen. 2:18). We read in the following verses that in order for God to create the woman, He put the man in a deep sleep, opened his chest, removed a rib, closed up the wound in the man’s side, and from that single rib formed the woman. When she was complete, God brought the woman to the man.

Let this be an example to all of you single women who desire to be married. You need to allow God to separate you unto Himself first. Become a truly sanctified woman unto God. Paul wrote in Romans 12:1 “I beseech you, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable unto the Lord, which is your reasonable service”. Don’t get caught up in fads and philosophies of this world; instead be a woman of the Word of God. Let Him form your personality and dictate your appearance. “Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God” (Rom. 12:2).

When God sees that you are ready, He will bring you to your future husband and let him recognize that you are his wife. “He that finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord” (Prov. 18:22). As Adam recognized and gladly received Eve as bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh, the man God has prepared to be your husband will appreciate you, honor you, respect you and love you. Not just because you are a beautiful woman on the outside, but because you are also a holy woman on the inside. “Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised” (Prov. 31:30).

Thirdly, I want you to notice that a woman was the last thing that God created on the sixth day before He rested from His labors. She was God’s crowning achievement. The apostle Paul said that “the woman is the glory of the man” (1 Corinthians 11:7). How exactly is a woman a man’s glory? When she submits herself to the authority of God’s Word and subsequently the headship of the man. Make no mistake about it: a bossy woman who tries to take charge of every situation apart from seeking and obeying God is a woman still in need of construction. The Word describes such women as “foolish women” who tear down their own homes (Prov. 14:1).

As it was in the garden of Eden so it is today. By this I mean that if women will resist the temptation to try and be more than who and what God has already declared that they are, then sin can be stopped cold and peace, harmony and true holiness can thrive in their relationships. No godly man trying to serve the Lord will be happy with a woman who doesn’t know who she is in Christ. Such women are hinderers rather than helpers to their husbands. Women who disobey the Word will reap the consequences of their own actions often losing their dignity, their husbands, their homes and their hopes.

In conclusion, I want to leave you with a few words of encouragement. Some of you women have been in and around the church for a long time, but you have not really repented of your sins and made a commitment to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You are already God’s property, but you are not yet part of His holy family. The Lord loves you and wants to make you whole and complete. Jesus is the only one who can do this for you. Not a man. Not children. Not a career, position, home, car, clothes or other material things. Only Jesus can satisfy you, build you up and give you an inheritance among all them that are sanctified in Him (Acts 20:32).

Open your heart to Him. Give Him your life – past, present, and future. Stay with Him by being filled with His Spirit and trusting and obeying His Word. If you do this, then you can rest assured that He will do what He has promised in Jude 24-25: “Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory, with exceeding joy; the only wise God our Savior be glory and majesty, dominion and power both now and forever. Amen.”

Thank you for reading and may God continue to bless and keep you is my prayer.
