A New Currency for Troubled Times
I believe we are entering a period where a “me first” attitude is likely to be the swiftest path to destruction. Unfortunately, without a massive shift in consciousness, it’s also the only path many people will see in these troubled times. When things get scarce, I understand the need to secure resources for yourself and your family. There’s nothing wrong with that. The necessary shift, then, is to expand our definition of “family.”
In short, we gotta look out for each other, y’all. We have to not only learn how to live with less than we’re used to, we have to share with those who have less. Many religions teach about the perils of chasing after material goods . . . our entire planet is witnessing that now. Money can vanish just like everything else in this tangible world.
So we’re going to have to find another way of measuring the value of our lives and what’s in it. That “currency” is goodwill, and the fulfillment you get from both giving it and receiving it.
What are your thoughts?
